Grande’s Glinda descends majestically into Munchkinland at the opening of “Wicked” to tell her ecstatic supporters that the witch is indeed dead. As the rumours have been circulating. Then a flashback shows how she and the green-hued Elphaba ended up becoming unusual college friends. Glinda is a lovely, pampered cruel girl who has always gotten her way. Elphaba has always been teased and shunned because of the colour of her skin. However, after being compelled to share a room, they come to the startling realisation that they truly see each other in a manner that no one else has ever seen.
