Storyline:
Set in Oakland in 1987, the film captures the essence of the 1980s through nostalgic cinematic styles and features a radiant alien substance, complemented by green lighting in the background that intertwines the four narratives. These narratives include a far-right gang attacking an audience at a music venue, who choose to retaliate; a duo of female rappers engaged in a rap battle; a debt collector confronting his superior; and a basketball star standing up against local criminals. Except for the debt collector’s storyline, the others lack distinctiveness, with the final narrative being a graphic spectacle reminiscent of both Cronenberg and Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’, which itself pays tribute to Shaw Brothers films.
